I have outlook 2007 (upgraded from 2003) and I keep this getting this
error almost everytime I restart outlook.

Error Text (comes up in a balloon from the system tray):
A data file did not close properly the last time it was used and is
being checked for problems.
Performance might be affected while the check is in progress.

After a while another baloon pops up saying that the data file check is
complete.

Here is what I did to troubleshoot the problem:
1. I make sure that Outlook actually quits when I close the app and it
does.

2. I ran scanpst.exe against my pst file and did find 54 problems. I
told it to repair it and it did. I opened Outlook 2007 and it opened
fine - did not report any errors. However, after that, I closed
Outlook, then reopened it again and the problem reappeared. So it
sounds like Outlook is actually damaging the file.

My setup is like this: the source of the email is the exchange server.
However all the email is being delivered to a local mailbox, where it
is stored in a PST file on my local drive.

What can I do to get rid of this problem?
