We are using Outlook with BCM 2007 on two XP Pro SP3 machines and are sharing the database with a peer-to-peer network. We also save all business files in a shared folder on "Computer 1." When I link a file to a business contact while working on computer 1, the link shows up as C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\File. This file is then only able to open on Computer 1....

I have installed BCM for Outlook 2007 on one PC running XP and onto another running Vista. I have also installed the add-in onto my Windows Mobile 6 phone for BCM mobile. Everything onthe XP side works fine..when I sync..I see the changes made to either the PC or phone. The problem is when I try to sync with the Vista PC only the standard Outlook files are sync'd, not the BCM...

If it is public folder you could set custom permissions by choosing under Delete Items none. If they have Edit permission they could change all the information, but the record could not be deleted. Another useful field is Created/Due, which I discovered in "User- defined fields in folder". This gives the actual sent or received date of the email, whereas the more logical fields, Sent and Received, only display information about the link itself, and as such are not very useful....

Yes, Vista. Actually, I was impatient and just turned off BCM completely. I didn't use it anyway. I was trying to get the menu/tool bars to stay put and hoped the BCM bar was the issue. It cleaned it up a little, as now there's one less bar, but they still don't remain in the same place. Is it a Vista issue. Or could the McAfee bar be causing the same problem as BCM?...
