| You could create your own user defined fields ( I believe you cannot export
these though) in your contact or use fileds that are not used by you.
Also go to Tools - Forms - Design a form, and change the labels or even
add the fields to the main contact page.. Go to Views Current Views,
Customise... to create the display you want .

| I have a domain and a pc setup with BCM. Shared the database. So far users
that are members of the domain have had no problem getting to the database. I
have one user that has Windows XP Media on a laptop. He is part of the
workgroup. He can log into exchange and snyc up with Outlook. He is in AD as

| I am getting IE7 script errors being reproted when loading web pages in BCM
2007. Script debugging is disabled in IE and script error reporting is

| I know only that in Outlook 2007 you can click on button "All fields" in
Contacts form and it will show all possible contact fields. Presume that
fields have to be similar in all MS "address book" apps, including earlier
versions of Outlook.

I'm using an HP laptop and IPAQ 111 pocket pc and Microsoft Bit Defender
Internet Security. Business Contact Manager is loaded on my IPAQ, but not
working properly. When I open active Sync, Business contact manager is
listed, but grayed out and I cannot uncheck the box. In fact, after
attempting to modify this I now have it listed five times with two of the

| I have a client who is just starting out with BCM 2007 and of course there
are 1,000,001 questions I'm being asked.
The major one being can the records that a user can view be restricted to a
specific set (ie by Territory's), so that for instance Salesman 'A' can only
see the contacts assigned to Territory 'A'.
Any help or pointers would be grately appreciated.

I am using SMTP for sending mails in my ASP.Net code. I have specified
"Reply to" option in my code which is supposed to receive a mail to "Reply
to" id instead of "Mail From" if any reply is sent to "Mail From" address.

Try setting up a Search Folder that filters on the category or categories
that you want. Then set up a Mail Merge Marketing Campaign based on the

| This is concerning the "reports function.
I would like to see a report that lets us choose all of the data we want for
a report.
I.E.; I want a report thats has the Account name, the date of creation for a
business record
-- A user named field "CustId" and comments. from that business note.
Some reports come close but no cigar.

That wasn't what I was looking for.
I want to be able to look at my calendar items (i.e., appointments) and w/o
going INTO the actual appointment see if a REMINDER/ALARM has been set. You
can see if it's a recurring appointment at a glance, but not if an alarm has
been set...
I hope that's more clear now.

| You can only have one instance of Outlook installed at any one time.When you installed the Trial of Office which probably included Outlook your previous Outlook obviously will not function

extra characters in an email field, like when emails show up like this:
Smith, Joe [joe.smith@abc.com]
It doesn't seem to matterif you even have that exact syntax in your linking

| There are software which can scan business cards into Outlook address book.
Dragging contact from Outlook contacts into BCM contacts shall not be a
problem at all :)
I must say however that haven't seen good business card reader up to today.
IRIS seems to be making various types, but their OCR engine is questionnable.

and Paste the contacts from Outlook 07 to BCM.

I had the same problem on a new Thinkpad. What I did was download SQL 2005
Express and install it. Then when I chose to remove SQL server fro add/remove
programs it found two instances. First I removed MSSMLBIZ, then I ran the
uninstaller from add/remove programs again and uninstalled the instance for
SQL Server 2005.

backup on the old server and restore the database to the new server. Even
though I do have the same logins in active directory, the user security

| We have a similar issue but with outside salesman. Is there a way to direct
the database using an ip address and a port number to forward to the hosting
computer?
We don't have a VPN so I dont know how to do that. I do have a static IP and
can port forward to the hosting if this is possible.

| I am new to BCM and am still learning how to use it. So far, I really
like it.
For a while, my Project Tasks showed up on my calendar based on due
date. Then one day it just stopped doing it; no idea why. (I suspect
it had something to do with ActiveSync and my Windows Mobile phone,
but I cannot be sure.)
