| Hi Folks,
Using Outlook 2007 with BCM installed.
Under the Folder List, when I view the "Business Contact Manager |
Communication History" folder, one of the default columns is "Linked
To". This shows me the name of the contact that the item is linked to
(obviously) using the not-so-obvious field name "ParentDisplayName".

| Hi & Good Evening,
I continue to receive a pop up message using BCM in Outlook 2003 that states
"The Folder You Specified Cannot Be Found" and I just noticed that in the
Server Status box it says:
Mail: Connected
Calendar: Connected
Contact: ERROR
Has anyone seen this before? And, know how to fix it??

| There are two menu items that I cannot see on my laptop. I'm trying to
import BCM data and there is no option under import/export for this. Also,
Business Tools is not visible. Do I need to reinstall? I have Outlook 2003

the "autocomplete" function is based on an ".nk2" file.

| In the "To:" put one person, maybe even yourself if you want. Put your
distribution list int the "BCC:" field. That means blind carbon copy. It is
the same as "CC:", carbon copy, but it hides the list from the recipients
when they get the email.

| In BCM 2007 I've created a new Project and linked it to an existing Contact.
The Contact has an existing email communication history that I'd like to add
to the Project communication history.
I know this can be done in the Contact record by opening each email
individually . . . but is there a way to migrate all of them? thanks!

| I am using Microsoft outlook 2003 and my client is using Business Contact
Manager 2007. He sent me all his contacts and I was able to put them in my
contacts. I have made some updates to these contacts and need to send them
back to him. I sent them but when he goes to put them back into his contacts
it does not ask him if he wants to add them as new or replace the existing

| There's not a server version -- you can just load BCM on a PC and call it a
server -- if you have 2-5 users get 2GB of RAM, 4GB for more. Or, use a MS
Small Business Server.

That is correct. The earliest Tablet release over 5 years ago have been
improved upon with greater durability and writing "feel." I love my
convertible tablet. It is fast and can used either as a notebook with key
board for typing or via long hand input. Great versatility and ease of use.

| Well then, Microsoft looses me for another 5 years. ACT! 2008 will import the
notes and all just fine. The MS Accounting program has pitiful, no-excuse
fundamental deficiencies, which when compounded by BCM similar deficiencies
such as not importing note dates.............. good bye, enjoy your big
business customers while you still have them and they have you in their
pocket!

| Hi all - When I try to convert an opportunity in OBCM into a quote in the
SBA(Accounting Express) tool, it converts the items to comments in the quote.
Has anyone seen this and what can be done about it?
We don't run SBA and would like to just link convert an Opportunity into a
Quotation in Excel but there doesn't seem to be an easy way to do this.

| I assume you mean a view in BCM to show only items to do. Well maybe - I'll
just have to spend a few days to figure somehting out that should have
already worked.
I really like the todolist as I spend most itme in the email side and very
little in the BCM side but trying to it is just soooooo much more comberosme
that ACT or Goldmine.

| TEchnically you are half-right but in reallity all wrong.
You can add user fields at the bottom of the form but you cannot use them
You CAN NOT make your forms readable to your use or create a new form with
the BCM data with any ease. I waish I had stayed with the horrible product
ACT and this BCM is worse.
The date in BCM is not displayable as many of the fields do not show in... |

| Someone at MS just needed a job and created a very poor excuse for a product.
The marketingo of the product compares it to products like ACT and GOLDMINE
yet when you contact MS they tell you it is not to compete with those.
There literature says it will do many things that it cannot dpo. But MS
does not support or apparently have any dialog with their marketing
department.
