how do i send an e-mail to an outlook category i've created?

If you use 2007, create an e-mail marketing message feature. This way it sends the e-mail personalized to each one of the contacts in your category. If you're still on 2003 version, i found it easier to create Distribution lists for my categories. runner: OneNote is a great option to keep notes about your contacts or accounts. Just right click on a BCM contact or account and choose Contact Notes. OneNote will create a link between BCM and OneNote so that you can move to/from the other pretty easily. The great thing about OneNote is the storage of unstructured data. BCM is great at structured data. Searching for something...

BCM 2007 vs Office live Small business contact manager

Why BCM over Outlook?
Lon Orenstein
0 / 2 13 Mar 2008
Sure. You get Opportunities that are linked to Business Contacts and/or Accounts. You get a Communication History of all the things that you've done with a contact and account. The account "rolls up" all the interactions from all the contacts that are part of that account. You can use a basic project tracking function with Business Projects and assign tasks to users.
