| Hello, I have created new accounts in BCM and new ones in Accounting Pro,
but after the original sync between the two, any additional accounts I add
don't find themselves in the other program.
I also have created quotes in the BCM, only now, I can't find them anywhere...
Ideas?

| Project Tasks are currently being seen by everyone! There are Project Tasks
that are assigned to specific users that no one else should be able to see
and for that matter it clutters their screen. How do you changed the setting

| Hi all, I'm just learning about BCM and ready to implement BCM 2003 for our
dept. Without going through a bunch of trial & error methods I was hoping
for some suggestions for implementing this. There will be 10-15 users and
all should be able to view/add/edit accounts/contacts as well as the other

| Hmmm ...my BCM is still visible but not working - and like you I have
uninstalled & reinstalled. I'm using BCM for Outlook 2003
I'll check the registry. Why would Outlook suddenly(?) disable this???

| I've read up quite a bit on this particular issue now, and nobody seems to
know a way to resolve this properly.
It seems that a user cannot connect to the sql database unless they are on
the same domain as the server. If i am logging in from home via VPN then i
join the work domain, but im logged into my laptop as a local domain.
Therefore when i run sqlcmd -S server\db it gives me... |

| You need to cleat the cache. This happens to me several time a day too.
Click TOOLS, OPTIONS, OTHER tab, ADVANCED OPTIONS button, CUSTOM FORMS
button (at bottom), MANAGE FORMS button, then the CLEAR CACHE.
Click OK/APPLY to get out of all the menus and then close and restart
Outlook. Problem Solved.

| I deleted an offline database from a laptop and now I'm unable to recreate a
NEW offline database from the host.
I get the dreaded "cannot complete last action" message when I try to create
the offline database. Somehow, I was able to do this on another laptop about
3 weeks ago, but NO luck this time.
Suggestions? Anyone else been through this?... |

| hi,
is there a way to share the business contact manager database to the internet?
the connection must go thru the firewall server using ISA server 2006.
I tried to open port 56183 in firewall and redirect to the real server in my
internal network but it seems it's still not working. do I need to open other
port? what protocol do I need to open in ISA server?... |

| Yes, create a new Search Folder, the Filter function in the Search Folder
creation screen allows you to filter on UDFs. However, you cannot cross
search between Accounts and Contacts, either one only.

| Thanks Andy, but this will only apply to the current view and not allowing
you to save the criteria as a filter and reuse in the future. Also it does
not allow you to use the list in the view to do email broadcast or mail
merge. I did found out a work around.
1. Create a Search Folder with the search criteria (the Filter function
inside Search Folder allows you to save the filter)

| I'd like to see the "to" and "from" fields in the communication history list
for a BCM project; I've tried the "Field Chooser" tool and, although I can
add those columns to the list, all the fields are empty;
By the way, its the "to/from" from e-mail messages that I want to see;
Is there any way to do show this data?

I can't seem to find where you can write a letter to a BCM contact within
BCM so it will keep a history. Also, when doing a mail merge, user defined
fields are not included in the merge fields, how can one filter on user
defined fields? The mail merge also doesn't seem to create a history in BCM

Contact Mngr. The tasks pop up in my "to do" list as reminders on the days

start the reminder service. Unable to show reminders. The reminders folder
could not be found. Then it has an address that leads to my outlook file in

| Hi guys,
We have set out interval to synchronise every 30mins when the user is
Online.
The problem was exactly what you suggested Chris: "someone makes a
change to the shared database, and that change has not been
syncronized with your local (offline) database before you go
offline".

Obvious solution which I looked at immediately I realised what had gone -
unfortunately I didn't realise that there would be a separate deleted items
area for Business Contact Manager. I ended reinstating a backup and lost data
I had added since the backup.
Fortunately I took the precaution of backing up the database before
reinstating the backup so maybe I will be abe... |

| From what I see, when entering a B'Day in a Contact Record, there is no way
to override the 15 min default alarm at that time. However, you can go the
Calendar and find the B'Day event. Double click it and select Open the
Series. You can click the Reminder Drop Down list and select from a whole
range of pre-event reminder times. You can even type in times not shown on
the list.... |

In the Contact Record of the Potential (Referred Client), open a New History
Item/Opportunity and in the Initiated By field select the Contact Name who
did the referring.
Then open the Opportunity folder and first add into the view the Initiated
By column. After that column is added you can then Group the view as
Initiated By, then Linked To. This... |

| Goldmine and ACt are both more functional in terms of creating distribution
lists and more friendly for sales guys. Our company (50 people) have
recently gotten Outlook with MS BCM. It is a great high end Rolodex for
stuff after the sales and marketing is done. Unfortunatly not good for the
front end.

The only thing I see that designates red font is in the Customize View
screen under Auto Formatting it shows 3 Rules: Distr List Items, Unread
Contacts, Overdue Contacts ...... and that last rule indicates to use a red
