After reading dozens of posts about this problem and struggling with it for
several days I was ready to backup and reinstall. As a last ditch effort I
ran

BCM\Database Tools\Manage Database\Check for errors

that fixed it for me.
Possible cause of problem: power outage. Not positive but I saw this in
other posts and it's the only thing I can point to that has happened recently
- otherwise BCM has been working fine for months.
