| When you add New History Item, is there a way to enter a note on the same row
to allow you to identify what that attached file is. Only the name of the
file is displayed and this is generally not descriptive enough to identify my
files? Ideally, at the point of attaching the file I would want to enter a
text to state what the file was.... |

| I installed Office 2007 Small Business. Contact Manager will not create a
database and returns an error. SQL Server will not run, ie. it will not start
and reports 'stopped'. I assume the two problems are interrelated. Can anyone
help with a solution or maybe SQL server settings.

| I spent about a week creating a database of business contacts with BCM. Then
I wanted to create a new database for "job applicants", ie a new category of
business contacts. Didn't know what else to do, so I did "create database"
with a new name. I hadn't backed up the original database.
Did I overwrite the original database with the empty new one? I cannot find

| I have BCM 2003. My system is running Windows XP Home Edition, Version 2002,
Service Pack 2. BCM runs great, except for one problem.
When I change the email address and contact name, the email address updates
fine, but it keeps displaying the OLD contact name. No matter what I do, it
won't change it. Has anyone else run across this and did they fix it?

I have a question that I haven't been able to find a clear answer for,

In BCM 2007 I want to show columns from both the standard BCM fields (i.e.
Assigned To) and some of the custom fields I've setup.

A few members of a distribution list have changed their eddress. I have
changed the edress' in the individual contacts and then opened the
distribution list and clicked 'Update'. However the new edress' do not appear.

| ok...so, what I have done to get past my insanity here...is point everything
back to the MSSMLBIZ (MSDE instance).
Its all working again. But I am still disappointed that I could not move
everything to my central SQL Server that is running on the same machine,
save myself the overhead, etc.
any thoughts, even if its just to point out my stupidity, would be welcomed.

| You can populate BCM contacts from contacts. Just copy and paste contact(s)
to BCM contacts -or- you can also right-click contacts folder and select
"Copy..." to BCM folder to copy all contacts.

| Whenever I customize a view will different columns the customizations
only exist while I'm on that view. As soon as I go to another view and
come back the customizations are gone.
Also, if I add an existing field (like Account) to a view, the column is
created (until I leave and come back), BUT the values are never
populated to display in the column; ie. the column has null values.... |

| I use Companion Link Pro to synch my BCM Contacts with the Blackberry. IMHO,
the BCM Mobile interface is lame. Companion Link also keeps a Windows Mobile
PDA synched at the same time.

All simple filter parmeters are checked....with nothing in Advanced filter.
I've tried this before a number of times with same result - no accounts
appear.
To fill in some other details...all accounts originally created in BCM03 and
migrated into BCM07 via restore. I don't know if this would affect
anyting...all functions within the Account seem normal.... |

| Auto linking appears to work only sporadically. Emails that I send or
receive are not always linked to the corresponding Business Contact.?
The email addresses do match (my company uses a Global address book which
seems to be connected to the email address field of the Business Contact
somehow...) and the correct folders are checked in the Manage E-mail Auto
Linking box.

One user will receive and respond to an email from a client. It will be

the database.
If you follow the following steps you should be able to access business
contacts.
Windows XP
Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
Click Performance and Maintenance.
Click Administrative Tools, and then double-click Services.

| Hi. I have inadvertantly deleted my "Old Messages" folder under local
folders in OE6.
I have found the backup (.bak) in the recycle bin, renamed it .dbx, and
tried just about everything to get OE6 to put the folder back where it was.
But with no luck.

| I can't stress this enough, DON'T install BCM, it will sloooow your computer
down, and evenutally lock it up. It is NOT ready for use yet. It is GREAT
in theory, but bad in a working environment. I honestly spent a toal of
nearly 30 hours with Tech Support, to figure out how to fix what BCM screwed

You can delay sending in regular Outlook. You just type up your e-mails and
on "Options" select "Do not deliver before:___"
If it were me, I'd just create templates (drafts) that you resend to your
new contacts, and just update the "Delivery" date, as necessary.

theory, but doesn't work yet.
I've spent endless hours online with the tech support people in India, or
wherever, to try and recover my system after Business Contact Manager has
shut it down.
I am sure it will be great one day, and I was hoping it was now, but from

| To me, for a small const biz, a combo of BCM and Office Accounting should
get you there (they work together).
You can create quotes and invoices in OA, schedules on BCM, and create
projects/jobs in OA and BCM and keep everthing organized. For letters to
