| I am using office 2007 and business contact manager. I am having a major
problem evertime outlook starts. A message continually pops up saying that

| When using the Import Utility to convert Contacts and Groups from an ACT!2000
database, the resulting BCM file is empty. The log indicates that everything
has errored. The message is:
Contact, The URL cannot be empty.

| I am having the same issue with the BCM tool. I am very familiar with SQL
2000 server, but SQL 2005 Express it quite different.
I have the SQL express tools installed but cannot for the life of me find
the "grant logon to other users" permission. Can you give me a hint.

| I changed the Full Name to a whole different person after a couple months and
although the change is saved and displays correctly in the Full Name field
the old (wrong) name is still displayed in the Top Header. It seems like the
Display Name didn't update or something. How can this be resolved or is this

| Seeing other notes here, I also went into the Services file from Run, and
found the file: MSSQL$MICROSOFTSMLBIZ
It is set to automatic but showed it was stopped. When I clicked Start, I
get this message:
Could not start MSSQL$MICROSOFTSMLBIZ Service on local computer. Error

| I changed the Business Contact form in BCM and now all he** has broken loose.
I cannot save a new Business Contact, and when I bring up a Business Contact
I get an error message saying it cannot perform the last function. I can get
past that, but then the pre-entered Contact has no business history.

| We have Outlook 2007 on a small network with a shared database. Everything
has been fine until recently when on some PC's BCM seems to not open the BCM
toolbar is empty and the BCM options are not available.
I can go the the data file from account settings and the shared data file is
listed. I can create a new database on the local machine from here but the
BCM options are still not... |

| I did a clean install on a different admin account and re-ran the db tool and
everything works fine now. The Database tool is a great resource for sharing
the database and adding permissions. Not sure why the installation of the
tool was still looking for "my" installation path but by installing it as a
different user it worked fine.

(Rus) I tryed to load/install BCMV3PPC to my HP iPAQ but received “Can’t copy

My add-in (Business Contact Manager for Outlook) was disabled. I have no
idea why that happened, but that was the source of all the trouble.

dashboard only shows as red x no display. The machines have several

| My Lenovo T61 laptop froze and needed a hard reset. Since then, the
mssmallbusinss file in the Business Contact Manager appears to be missing.
The folder in which it would typically be located is also missing. A search
of the hard drive does not bring up any files of that name.
Any insights on what might have happened and how I might be able to restore

Trying to export accounts out of a selected category to an exel or .cvs file.
How should that be done?
If you try via "Reports" then "accounts" you can create a report but it will
list all categories in a specific format wich cannot be changed and wich
cannot be used for mail merging.
I guess there must be a trick to do this!... |

I used BCM v2 a couple of years ago and ended up ditching it because of
performance issues and a general lack of functionality, e.g. limited category
fields, inflexible reporting, not being able to add contacts to opportunities
etc. I went off and used salesforce group edition. Is it worth re-visiting
this on BCM 2007 i.e. has it improved much? I would appreciate any feedback... |

| I found and re-enabled the BCM component of my Outlook. But why was it
disabled. I don't have another version of oulook on my computer but, I have
remote access to my office server and access that (work) Outlook remotely on
my computer. Is it posiblle that even though I'm in VPN remote access the
other outlook is conflicting with mine?
