database with the other desktop units in the office. The other
(remote) desktops can connect to and use the shared database.
However, when a remote desktop user clicks on an account, it opens as
a contact and not as an account. This in turn means the remote

PST-no Exchange server. Upon getting a new workstation running Outlook 2007
with an updated version of BCM, we exported his old BCM database with the

| You can do this, but it takes a "work around". Make a new folder in your
contacts. I called my by the Category name. I sorted by the category,
selected (highlighted)all the names I wanted to mail to. From the edit menu,
I clicked copy to folder. I copied the selected contacts to the new folder.
Then, I used the tools menu to complete the merge while working in the new
folder.... |

| Yes, you must install SP3 for SQL Server 2005, and you must install it BEFORE
opening BCM for the first time. I found this link when I was preparing to
install BCM for first time on a win 7 computer, and it installed without

import of up to Act! 2007.
BCM 2010 beta claims that it will import versions of Act! up to v2009, but
in our testing, we found limited success. Don't know if it is simply a beta
issue or signs of a larger issue.
