Just tried Safe mode again, but it didn't work.

I also tried Start > Run
chkdsk c: /f

Rebooted to check for disk errors after start up - didn't find anything.

I also tried running 'scanpst.exe' program against the 'outlook.pst' file. I
left it running through the night as the .pst file is over 2GB in size. It
detected an error and attempted to repair the file, but the SCANPST program
itself errored half way through the process.

None of these things have made any difference. The Outlook program opens up
ok, but as soon as I click on a folder or click send/receive it hangs
(program not responding window comes up).
