Then Outlook / tools / email settings yielded "The operation failed due to registry or installation problems."
These 4 steps brought Outlook to life:
1) Activated Outlook Express, allowing me to send emails.

| Hi,
I am currently using Outlook 2010 with an IMAP account. I have noticed
that emails are removed from my inbox after 14 days automatically.
I have looked in the Advanced tab under the account properties but there
is no where to chang the "Leave a copy of messages on Server" setting.
Any help is much appreciated

| I am running Outlook 2007 on a Windows 7 PC.
When I click on the Outlook 2007 Options menu, then on Search Options
on the Preferences tab there are no files listed in the "Index
messages in these files" box. I do not see any way to add a PST file
to that box.
Needless to say, Outlook message indexing is not working. How can I
turn on Outlook indexing on my pst file?

| if you unticked the option to remove line breaks, outlook won't reformat the
messages in your inbox.
If its happening to messages you send, add 3 spaces at the beginning or end
of the line to prevent reformatting.

| I was researching for a colleague and saw this problem reported a number of times online...tried everything suggested, including ctr-double click on the right corner X, as well as ctr-double click on the left corner and right click on left corner, hit restore... | I recently upgraded from Office 2007 to Office 2010.
When I had Outlook 2007, if I read an email, it would not be sent to my
iPhone when I checked for email messages on my iPhone. Now, with Outlook
2010, even though I read an email on Outlook, when I check for messages on
my iPhone it reads the email.
Is there a preference in Outlook I can change to alleviate this?

| I opened up my Programs and Features menu thru my Control Panel. I uninstalled the connector for my outlook, it was from Oracle. Once that was done I used my outlook without it. The e-mail account I was setting up stated that I needed the connector, however I found that without it I was able to connect to it. With the connector however I was not able to because of that "beautiful" error message... |

| I need to change my outlook exchange provider. Unfortunately, I can
no longer connect to the old provider, but every time I start Outlook
it tries to, and when it fails, won't open the client. I have even
tried holding the <shift> key which sometimes disables certain aspects
of other Microsoft programs.
