| There is no major difference in account management between Outlook 2003 and
Outlook 2007 so it should be working ok. Outline the steps you are using

| OL uses Profiles. You cannot switch between Profiles without shutting OL
down
Add folders, eg off your Inbox & Sent, use rules to move msgs, when sent or
received to the appropriate folder.
Use the drop down in the new msg window to select which account it is being
sent from
Or if you do not intend to make use of OL calender/Tasks etc switch back to
OE

Funny thing, I can't seem to wipe out every last trace of a previous install
as the program complains it can't find the PST file from the previous install.

For older versions of Outlook (2002 and earlier), definitely. See

I should have followed up my original post... my issue came down to a
corrupt Outlook profile - hard to believe, but true. I created a new Outlook
profile, and voila - everything speeding along quite fine...
What was strange - I did delete the 'corrupted' profile - but created a new
one with the same name and this did not fix the issue -... |

| I had a response from Sue Mosher (MVP) about this post before (hopefully
you'll see this one). I downloaded and used the MAPI editor tool. I even
tested on my own pc to ensure I was navigating to the correct place. On the
users pc in question. when I right-click on his "inbox" through the MAPI
editor I get a debug error. Tried it 3 times after a restart of the pc &

Thanks for responding so quickly. I disabled the add ins as you
suggested, but to no avail.
I finally got to speak to a microsoft tech who spoke english. (I nearly
dropped dead!!!!!!!!!!!!). She was from Nova Scotia. She figured out it was
the fonts and some of the boxes that were checked under each font tab that
were to blame. Outlook is as good as new.... |

I think I'll export the bad contacts, delete them, then import them (without
the hidden info like flags and reminders). At least I won't have to worry

| In edition you would be best advised to create a new data file, in the new
unicode format (the default for OL2003/07) set it as default and if
neccessary copy data from your old pst to this - The new format is
apparently more robust and doesnt have the size limitation.

| The only other two things I can think of would be do to a Detect and Repair
(from the Help menu) or to create a new mail profile. Try the repair
first...creating a new profile can fix a lot of problems but it also resets a
lot of things back to their default settings, like customizations to views
and toolbars and stuff like that -- plus you'd have to reenter your e-mail
accounts.... |

| You cannot. Outlook 2003 can only use Word 2003 as it's editor, Word 2007
will not work. Word 2007 is no longer available as an editor for Outlook
2007 either; Outlook 2007 now comes with it's own version of WinWord. In
general all versions of Outlook require the same version of Word (Outlook
98/Word 98, Outlook 2000/Word 2000, Outlook XP/Word XP, etc.)
