| Found it. This was being caused by a corrupt profile. To resolve;
Use the Mail applet in the control panel and delete the current default
profile and then create a new one.

| I was using Outlook 2003 on Windows XP. Just now installed it on a new Vista
machine.
On XP I used the "Lookout" search; it was very effective as I am able to
specify on the search line on which folders to search (e.g. contacts only, or
sent mail, or desktop folders...). On first look seems to me Vista Instant
Search does not do that.

| O.K. here goes I installed Office 2007 over 2003. Now when the auto
"send/receive" goes out and retrieves my e-mails; and it does, there are no
entries in the "Inbox"... Even though there are entries in the Junk e-mail

| When using preview frames in Outlook, the option drop down dose not function,
yet when I open my computer in the Admin Mode, Outlook works fine. My normal
user mode is also an administrator with all options enabled. This means it
is a setting problem and even though I reset it to default mode the options
still will not drop down.
I really do not want to reinstall if at all possible.... |

Gmail doesn't use "http" accounts.
You need to set it up as a POP/SMTP account by following the instructions on
the gmail web site.

antivirus and have the mail scanner module loaded. Try disabling this. I
