| If you deploy the Outlook PIA you should only do so with the official
redistributable packages that install into the GAC. Since there isn't an
Outlook 2010 package yet you'd have to wait or embed the PIA interfaces into
your addin using Framework 4.
No matter how that is set up, if you don't have Outlook 2010 installed your

| Most of us use some sort of wrapper collection like Randy's, whether it's a
list/dictionary/sorted list/collection or whatever. It's very necessary and
equally so for the ribbon where you might for example want to maintain
different states for various controls such as drop-downs or toggle buttons
per Inspector or Explorer. I don't see any wasted code there.

| Recipients do not have to be in the address book or any contacts folder to
resolve. It's a matter of format, not actual address. However, with Exchange
it often seems that emails populated in code might not send unless the
recipient addresses are resolved, the exact reason I suggested that.

| You can change that setting in the registry, but Outlook will only read it
at startup. It won't read it again, after startup it keeps that along with
many other settings in an in-memory cache. I don't believe you will be able
to do what you want.

| Not really, but not following a worst practice would probably help. Doing a
send/receive that often is not recommended. Every 10 or 15 minutes is a more
responsible value.
In addition if your code is crashing Outlook you might want to fix it so
Outlook doesn't crash. Since you told us nothing of your code or your
Outlook version or much else that could help it's impossible to tell if... |

| I set that flag if and only if I get an Outlook session by using New or
CreateObject(). Otherwise if Outlook was already running it's set to false.
When it comes time to end the program I check the flag and if it's true I

| I do agree with Ken.
The PIA is COM based and it runs properly only when running on the main thread. Thus, your code is not thread-safe.
The easy way to prove this is try to run multiple instances of your program.
